Where is the best place to buy garden plants in Boston?
I am seeking a local farmers market or nursery where I can get year for a good price. Thank you.
Eh! Meghan, Boston Garden, of course (lol). What the Hay Market Square (LOL). Seriously, I like Lowes, Home Depot or Wal Mart, for young plants. But here is a Yahoo search that has listings of garden centers. My grandfather used to take the best garden in Reading. Years of composting and tilling the garden area produced a large garden. Where to buy starter plants will not make much difference – Is what we do with them after purchase. However, be sure to purchase disease-resistant varieties, and look at the root system of plants to buy. If you have roots healthy, they have better chances. Which can vary in the same store from week to week. Happy Gardening.
